“Dignitaries Sympathy” AA Group
The Dignitaries Sympathy Group is a closed meeting of A.A.
We are a group of men recovering together in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous through the study, discussion, and implementation of the Twelve Steps described in the Big Book, Alcoholics Anonymous. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and to carry the message to other alcoholics.
As a group, we espouse strong sponsorship, service, commitment, honesty, and humility. We are committed to giving our best effort to the matter at hand. We owe each other the truth as we see it, and we also owe each other the right to be wrong.
Dignitaries Sympathy have no leader at our meetings but speak when we are moved (or pushed) to do so.
We invite feedback on issues of sobriety and the Twelve Steps, but we do not debate any issue or opinion. Specific living issues should be dealt with either on a one-to-one basis with a sponsor or addressed by a selected group gathered for a group conscience outside of the meeting.
All newcomers are welcome to visit for several meetings to determine if they wish to join the group. Members who join the group make a verbal commitment to attend weekly unless prevented from doing so by legitimate health, family, or business reasons.
Members of the Dignitaries Sympathy GroupĀ are encouraged to attend a Step meeting and other A.A. meetings regularly, in addition to this one.
New members are encouraged to get a sponsor from within the group and to contact them by phone or in person on a regular basis.
Dignitaries Sympathy Members are expected to be on time for the meeting.
